yet another "how do they stay in business" rants

So the wife and I both have sprint camera phones. I have hacked together a simple shell script that is tied into the email system on the home mail domain to be able to send pictures to it from the phone, and they just magically appear on the web. A little while ago, this stopped working. A bit of debug lead to the simple conclusion that no sprint picture mail is making it through to my email server. I've opened a support ticket with the relay provider I use, who asked the obvious... "what bounce messages are they getting at sprint?" Well, I hadn't been able to find any in my sprint mailbox, so I started a support chat with their customer support folks. The transcript of that chat follows:

Shortly after Joy left the session, my phone buzzed with an incoming picture mail. I'm guessing it was from Joy, it claimed to be the results of my "web transcript", which had one word "Sprint" as the message, and the image was an icon with the letters "abc" on a document. I've now gotten three of those so far.

So a while later, I try again... thankfully with better results, sorta:

Chris I that is a great question, E Chat Agents are only able to do basic troubleshooting. I am going to see if there is something in my tool that talks about this. If not you will need to contact Tech Support at 1-877-345-7895. One moment while I research
